Navydenko wins ATP09

Last year finalist Nikolay Davydenko beated Juan Martin Del Potro at the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals.

Davydenko won 6-3, 6-4 in an hour and 24 minutes to claim the title. He is the first Russian to lift the World Tour Finals trophy.

Such important triumph in his career would guaranteed the Russian to finish the season as the world No. 6.

Davydenko is truely deserved to win this tournament. He beated all grand slam winners (AU Open: Nadal; Roland Garros and Wimbledon: Federer; US Open: Del Potro) all the way to clinch the year ended title.

Marat Safin is now retired and Davydenko wishes the Russian fans to support him instead.

No worries Davydenko, if you keep playing terrific tennis we will all support you!
